🎗️ **Stay Breast Cancer Aware: Tips from Dr Punam Krishan** 🎗️

Dr Punam Krishan, a well-loved former Strictly contestant and TV doctor, recently shared her personal battle with breast cancer. Despite having no family history and being in good health, she was diagnosed 5 months ago. Her story is a powerful reminder that cancer can affect anyone.

Here’s what she shared:
“I’ve completed treatment and while I’m grateful, this journey has been a wake-up call. Listen to your body. Early detection saved me.”
👉 Important signs to watch for:
1. Changes in size or shape of your breasts
2. Nipple discharge (possibly bloody)
3. Lumps or swelling in the armpits
4. Skin dimpling on the breasts
5. Rash on/around the nipple
6. Changes in nipple appearance
🔍 **Self-check tips:**
– Use these five steps monthly:
1. Feel for changes or lumps in the shower.
2. Use a mirror to inspect your chest with arms in different positions.
3. Press your fingers on your breasts in circular motions.
4. Lie down and repeat the circular check.
5. Check nipples for discharge and changes.
Dr. Pallavi Bradshaw from AXA Health encourages everyone—yes, men too—to perform these checks regularly.
“Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK, affecting 1 in 7 women. Early detection can improve outcomes greatly, so always pay attention to changes,” Dr. Bradshaw says.
Don’t wait! If anything feels off, please consult your GP or healthcare provider. Your health is your wealth. đź’–
