**Shock as Paedophile Caught in Police Sting Operation**

Jacques Fletcher, 24, believed he was messaging a 13-year-old girl named Maisy, but in reality, he was conversing with an undercover police officer. Fletcher’s chats, which took place on Snapchat between July and August 2024, quickly turned explicit as he sent inappropriate images and videos. He even asked the decoy to perform sexual acts.

During his conversations with the officer, Fletcher sent images of his private parts and videos that he thought would influence the young girl. It’s shocking to think he suggested to the decoy how she might engage in sexual acts.
Law enforcement executed a warrant at Fletcher’s Newport home on August 22, 2024, finding incriminating evidence on his Samsung phone. The backgrounds of the videos he sent even matched his bedroom, further cementing his guilt.
Fletcher appeared at Cardiff Crown Court, where he admitted to serious offences, including attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity. Despite his actions, the court heard mitigating arguments about his personal challenges, including autism and mental health issues.
The judge handed Fletcher an eight-month sentence, suspended for 18 months, along with a strict rehabilitation programme and 150 hours of community service. He’s also to abide by sex offender notification requirements and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the next decade.
