π Heartbreaking Christmas Day for a Caerwent Family π

A joyous Christmas evening turned into a nightmare for Sherianne Wood and her two sons, Evan, 13, and Blake, eight, when a fire engulfed their home in Monmouthshire. Just as they were settling down after a lovely Christmas, the nightmare struck. “It was the perfect day,” Sherianne shared, until smoke and flames took over their flat.

The single mum, aged 41, recounted how they narrowly escaped when their fire alarm blared, alerting them to the danger. Evan, just out of the bath, and Blake watching TV with Sherianne, all had to flee in mere seconds to safety. Their flat was ablaze, and brave neighbours immediately contacted the fire brigade, who arrived promptly with two fire engines to tackle the inferno.

Shockingly, it appears that an electrical fault related to the charger for Evan’s new remote-controlled car might have sparked the blaze. Sherianne explained how the battery charger, part of Evan’s Christmas present, gave them an ordeal theyβll never forget.
Despite losing all their belongings and having no contents insurance, Sherianne expressed immense gratitude for their survival and the safety of their neighbours. She managed to rescue their two beloved French bulldogs, Bluey and Violet, amidst the chaos.
While staying temporarily with friends and in a hotel, the family is still in shock, unable to process the event or sleep properly. Yet, amidst this tragedy, support pours in, with a GoFundMe appeal set up by friends to help the family rebuild their lives.
We wish the Wood family strength during this challenging time. π
