Sad news as we say goodbye to the legendary author, Dame Jilly Cooper. Known and loved for her iconic “bonkbusters” like Riders, Rivals, and Polo, she captivated readers with her wit and scandalous tales.
Last month, Dame Jilly sadly passed away due to a tragic accident at her home in Gloucestershire. The inquest revealed she suffered a fatal head injury from a fall. Initially alert after the incident, she was quickly taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Despite being surrounded by her loving family, her condition worsened, and she passed away on the morning of October 5th.
The coroner concluded her passing as accidental due to a traumatic subdural haematoma.
Her storytelling spark and larger-than-life characters will be dearly missed, but her work will continue to entertain and inspire. Rest in peace, Dame Jilly Cooper.
