🎙️💥 Drama at talkSPORT! Simon Jordan and Eni Aluko were thrust into the spotlight after a lively on-air chat seemed to spill over during the ad break. While rumours swirled about a heated exchange, fuelled by a so-called “lip reader” claiming Jordan said, “Nobody cares, drop this,” Simon has stepped up to set the record straight.

During Wednesday’s broadcast, Simon denied these allegations and instead detailed his real words during the break. “I didn’t attack Eni,” he insisted. “I simply advised her on her decision to challenge Ian Wright, who many consider a national treasure. It’s her prerogative, but it was a risky move.”
The spotlight on Eni comes after her recent podcast comments sparked a debate over the representation and importance of ex-players in women’s football punditry. Eni argued for a greater spotlight on women with significant caps in the game, suggesting they should take on more prominent roles. “It’s about experience and insight, not an automatic pick,” she stated. “I want women to be the main faces, with supportive roles for men.”

Simon, however, wasn’t impressed with Eni’s stance, criticising her broadcasting approach and accusing her of having a “sense of entitlement.” He elaborated, “Experience is crucial, but entitlement isn’t the answer.”

It’s a discussion that’s got everyone talking, and we’re here for it! Where do you stand on the representation debate in sports punditry? 🤔⚽
