⚽ Exciting times at Manchester United! Kai Rooney, son of club legend Wayne Rooney, is eligible to make his first-team debut this season! After netting four goals in a U16 Premier League Cup semi-final, all eyes are on the young talent who debuted for the under-18s last year. 🏟️

Rooney recently made an appearance at Old Trafford during a U18 FA Youth Cup match, where he impressed with his skills. Under Premier League rules, since Kai turned 15 last November, he can technically play for the senior team. However, a debut might not be on the cards just yet this season.

In stark contrast, JJ Gabriel, another promising academy player, will have to wait a bit longer. Despite being lauded as a top-notch talent, he turned 15 after the August cut-off, pushing his senior league debut to the 2026/27 season. The Enfield-born striker has already dazzled in first-team training, showing promise with 15 goals in 20 U18 league matches this term.
While he missed out on the Premier League debut, JJ participated in FA Youth Cup triumphs, with no age restriction holding him back from showing his flair on the field. United U18s coach Darren Fletcher described the young striker’s potential as “bright,” noting his passion and excellent decision-making on the pitch.
The future looks promising for these young Red Devils, and we can’t wait to see them shine on the big stage! 🌟🔴 #MUFC #FutureStars #KaiRooney #JJGabriel
