Police swooped in before dawn on a quiet street in Caerphilly, arresting a man in his 60s after a house was raided. Armed with a warrant, officers made their move shortly after 4:30 am, breaking into the property using specialist tools. The takedown followed a tip-off about suspected illegal activities.
Inside, they discovered suspected Class A drugs, believed to be heroin and cocaine, along with an offensive weapon. The 63-year-old man from Blackwood now faces suspicion of drug dealing and weapon charges and is currently in police custody.
Sergeant Liam Brown spoke out on the operation, emphasising the continued effort in tackling the production and distribution of illegal drugs that negatively impact communities. He urged the public to keep sharing any concerns about drug-related activities or anti-social behaviour in their area.
