Sunny day drama at Caswell Bay! ๐๐ Beachgoers enjoying the lovely August weather were surprised to find a digger scooping stones near the boundary wall at the back of the beach. The wall, which belongs to local entrepreneur Chris Kiley, had partly collapsed and needed repairs. The stones were being put into gabion baskets to reinforce the area.

Police showed up after getting a call about the unusual activity, and Mr. Kiley explained the situation, even showing them photos of the wall. He swiftly halted the work when asked. According to Mr. Kiley, the dry spell caused the wall issues, similar to an incident 15 years ago.

The sight of a digger did catch the attention of many beachgoers, with one woman noting the buzz it caused amid the crowds and incoming tide. South Wales Police are now waiting to hear from the local council about whether the proper permissions were in place for the work.
Swansea Council has been made aware of these happenings and plans to visit the site for further investigation. They aim to determine the nature of the works and if additional steps are needed.
Mr. Kiley, who founded CK Foodstores, stated that addressing the wall’s issues falls solely to him. He reflected on past repairs, comparing the calm then to the stirred curiosity nowโthanks, perhaps, to the nice weather and the prevalence of camera phones today!
Stay tuned for any further updates as authorities continue to assess the situation. ๐๏ธ๐
