🏉 Rugby fans, you’ve got to hear this! Wales rugby legend Justin Tipuric has made an unforgettable return to the field! 🌟 After hanging up his professional boots last season, Tipuric surprised everyone by coming out of retirement to play for his childhood club, Trebanos RFC, in a thrilling Friday night match.

Taking the field as a centre, the former Welsh flanker reminded everyone of his incredible talent. He scored a try and set up two others, dazzling the crowd with a spectacular offload that led to a memorable try in their 26-5 win over Gowerton seconds.

Despite officially switching to a coaching role with the Ospreys following his illustrious career, which saw him earn a whopping 93 Wales caps, Tipuric showed he’s still got the magic touch. Gowerton’s players likely revelled in the chance to play against the Lions tour veteran—who, at 36, could easily still grace the professional stage.

Trebanos RFC holds a special place in Tipuric’s heart; it’s where his journey began. He’s often returned to coach and mentor at the club, joining a proud list of local rugby heroes including Robert Jones, Rhodri Jones, and Arwel Thomas. The place isn’t just a club for Tipuric—it’s a slice of his personal history. In his words, “The club helped shape me into the person I am today.”
While living just outside the village, his ties to Trebanos are unbreakable. The club remains the community’s heartbeat, making it a magnet for those who’ve been part of its story. Whether it’s playing in its ranks or simply soaking in the spirit, every return to Trebanos feels like coming home.
Three cheers for Tipuric and Trebanos RFC—proof that some legacies only get richer with time! 🙌💪
