π¨ Big Changes Coming to Local Banks! π¨

Heads up, folks! Lloyds Banking Group – that’s Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland – is shaking things up with a plan to close 95 branches across the UK over the next year. This means some of the beloved local spots in Wales where you can normally pop in for your banking needs will soon be no more.

Given the rise of online banking and handy mobile apps, fewer people are visiting branches in person. Lloyds assures us that most of their customers prefer to manage their finances digitally or over the phone.

These closures are part of a bigger plan announced last January. By spring 2026, there’ll be a grand total of 610 branches left standing. And for those who like to plan ahead, here’s a sneak peek of whatβs set to close in Wales:
β¨ Lloyds Bank Branch Closures:
– Aberdare β Bidding farewell on June 23
– Cardiff Victoria Park β Closing its doors on June 3
– Ebbw Vale β Potentially closing on March 15
– Llangefni β Last day on June 16
– Swansea Enterprise Park β Shutting down on July 2
β¨ Halifax Branch Closures:
– Bridgend β Closing shop on June 11
– Cardiff Albany Road β Also closing on June 11
– Cwmbran β Saying goodbye on June 2
If youβre a regular at any of these branches, it might be time to embrace the digital era or check out the nearest remaining location!
Stay tune and make sure to share this info with friends and family who might be affected by the changes. π¬π»π±
