Cardiff City are pushing to strengthen their squad before Monday’s transfer deadline, with an eye on Liverpool’s promising left-back Calum Scanlon! Manager Brian Barry-Murphy has his sights set on bringing in a left-sided defender and knows Scanlon well. However, he urges fans to manage their expectations as there’s “no guarantee” deals will be finalized in time.
Barry-Murphy explained, “When it gets this late in the window, we can’t have any guarantees or certainty that anybody will come to the club before it shuts.”
But that’s not all – our academy midfielder Matthew Apter might be heading out on loan! The young talent, who joined us from Everton, is yet to make his senior debut. Clubs from the National League and League Two are reportedly interested in giving him some real game time. Barry-Murphy noted that academy loans are managed separately, so he’s stepping back from the speculation.
