๐ฎ Big Changes for Ceredigion Waste Facilities! ๐จ

Heads up, Ceredigion! Our council is shaking things up with new plans that could mean waving goodbye to one of our beloved rubbish tips. They’re thinking of closing one of our four household waste sites, and they want to hear from YOU! The consultation is open now until 4th October, so your voice is needed more than ever! ๐ข

Here’s the scoop: Ceredigion has already trimmed black bag collections to just three bags every three weeks. Now they’re looking at possibly shutting down either Rhydeinon or Lampeter, as these two have the most overlap in service area. Glanyrafon and Kilmaenllwyd might be the ones sticking around for the north and south regions respectively.

The council says these changes are part of their strategy to encourage us to use recycling services more and keep the budget in check without hiking up council tax. They reckon closing one site is the best way to minimise impact on locals. But it’s not set in stone yet, so don’t miss your chance to give feedback!
You’ll still have access to local libraries and leisure centres for hard copies of the consultation documents, or you can ring 01545 570881 or email clic@ceredigion.gov.uk for more info. ๐โ๏ธ
Councillor Shelley Childs wants you to know that Ceredigion has one of the highest numbers of household waste sites per person in Wales. Still, maintaining all of them in this economic climate is tricky. They’re all ears to what residents have to say, so make sure you share your thoughts! ๐
Let’s shape the future of waste disposal in our beautiful county together. Donโt miss out and get involved today! ๐ฟ
