Cian Williams has been sentenced to nine years for a series of horrific crimes. Already on bail for sending explicit messages to a 13-year-old, he went on to abuse a 14-year-old, a court has heard.

At just 18, Williams contacted his first victim through Snapchat, where messages soon turned inappropriate. Despite being under investigation, he targeted another girl, inviting her to his home and pressuring her into sending sexual images. The brave actions of both victims’ families in contacting the police led to his arrest.

The impact on the girls has been profound, as they expressed feelings of betrayal, fear, and anger. While Williams has shown signs of remorse and maturity during his time in remand, the judge deemed his actions severe enough to warrant an immediate custodial sentence.
This case highlights the importance of vigilance and standing up against inappropriate behaviour to protect vulnerable individuals. Williams will also be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order, aiming to prevent any further tragic incidents.
