A day out at the park turned into a nightmare when Stephen Mullins, 33, directed a vile outburst at a family, telling them to “f**k off to your own country” before brandishing a knife. This shocking incident unfolded in a Welsh playground, leaving locals and those involved shaken.

Witnesses reported Mullins, who claimed to have issues with “foreigners,” stumbled and then escalated the situation by threatening the family and declaring, “I’m going to kill you.” Bystander Robert Taylor bravely attempted to calm Mullins, urging him to drop the weapon. Unfortunately, Mullins retaliated with violence, punching Taylor and later biting a police officer’s fingers during his arrest.
The court heard Mullins, of Shotton, had been dealing with personal grief, having learned of his uncle’s death and his father’s terminal illness that same morning. His defence claimed these circumstances, combined with alcohol, pushed him over the edge. However, the judge condemned his actions, particularly as they occurred in front of children, and sentenced Mullins to two years and three months in prison.

It’s a stark reminder of the importance of community and the duty to stand against hate—there’s no place for such behaviour in our parks or anywhere else. Let’s all strive for a more harmonious neighbourhood where everyone can enjoy their day without fear.
