Shocking news from prison: David Maggs, the 73-year-old convicted murderer who brutally ended his wife’s life, has died from a heart attack and blood clot while serving his sentence. Maggs was found unresponsive in his cell at HMP Parc in Bridgend on May 7 last year.

Back in February 2021, Maggs committed the horrific act by stabbing his wife, Linda, 15 times at their Sebastopol home, just as they were nearing the end of divorce proceedings. The disturbing details came to light during a trial where neighbours reported hearing arguments, and Maggs later called emergency services confessing to the crime. Despite attempting to argue his actions were due to diminished responsibility, the jury found him guilty of murder.

Maggs had a history of health issues, including heart problems and epilepsy. Just before his incarceration, he’d undergone significant medical procedures and had been hospitalised due to a head injury.
An inquest revealed that his death was due to natural causes. The grim chapter closes, leaving behind the memory of Linda Maggs, remembered by those who knew her as a vibrant lover of life.
