In the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, meet Samantha Jones, a true inspiration from Hendy. Back in September 2024, during a light-hearted moment, her husband Leighton noticed a tiny lump in her breast which, at the time, seemed harmless. Fast forward a few months, and that little lump turned into a serious discovery—it was breast cancer.

Diagnosed in December 2024, Samantha faced the daunting world of cancer treatments and hospital visits. Thanks to the diligent team at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, she was able to start her journey to recovery amidst tears and triumphs. After undergoing chemotherapy and a lumpectomy, this resilient mother of three received the news everyone hopes for: she was clear of cancer. Now, she’s on a mission to spread the word about the importance of self-checks!
Samantha’s husband, Leighton, always says, “A quick fondle saves lives.” And Samantha couldn’t agree more. She’s now using her story to raise awareness, stripping away the stigma around checking your breasts and pecs. It’s all about knowing your body and acting on any changes.

As part of her awareness campaign, Samantha embraced creativity by using eye-catching images and local partnerships. She’s collaborated with businesses like Hendy Rugby Club and Manolo Hairdressers, even posing with buns and baked potatoes to cover her modesty—and turning heads with her bold and brave statements!

Samantha is adamant about keeping the conversation alive beyond October. She wants everyone to know it doesn’t matter when or where—checking your body can be a game-changer. Her heartfelt campaign is a reminder that awareness shouldn’t have an off-season. After a challenging fight, Samantha is now channeling her experience into encouraging others to be proactive.
Join Samantha in her campaign to raise awareness, and remember, sometimes a fondle can save a life! Let’s support her in spreading this important message. #CheckYourBoobs #BreastCancerAwareness #BeLikeSamantha
