☀️ After one of the hottest bank holiday weekends on record, many of us are wondering when we can enjoy another extra day off. But if you’re in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, you’ll need to hold out until Christmas for your next bank holiday. 🎄
Did you know bank holidays aren’t the same across the UK? Scotland doesn’t have to wait as long, and next year brings a change in 2026 with one of the holidays shifting to a different date!
Here’s a quick rundown of what’s left in 2025 and what’s coming in 2026:
**England & Wales 2025:**
• 🎅 Dec 25 – Christmas Day
• 📦 Dec 26 – Boxing Day
**England & Wales 2026:**
• 🎆 Jan 1 – New Year’s Day
• 🐰 Apr 3 – Good Friday
• 🛍️ Apr 6 – Easter Monday
• 🍃 May 4 – Early May bank holiday
• 🌼 May 25 – Spring bank holiday
• ☀️ Aug 31 – Summer bank holiday
• 🎅 Dec 25 – Christmas Day
• 📦 Dec 28 – Boxing Day (substitute day)
Remember, if a bank holiday lands on a weekend, a ‘substitute’ weekday (usually the following Monday) is observed as the holiday. But keep in mind, your employer isn’t required to give you paid leave on these days, so plan ahead!
Bank holidays might also affect when you receive benefits, so stay informed to avoid any surprises!
