A chilling video has emerged showing a masked man making terrifying threats against Merthyr Tydfil College students. In a clip posted on YouTube, Oliver Beynon, 21, expressed disturbingly violent intentions, leaving his peers in shock and fear. Sporting a fedora hat and a college-themed facemask, Beynon claimed he would “cut, stab, and slice” fellow students, causing widespread panic.

Filmed in his bedroom, Beynon’s harrowing monologue even suggested taking lives in a grotesque manner. This alarming footage led to his arrest, where he admitted to making the video under severe mental distress, claiming he heard voices urging him to act. Despite regretting his actions, the impact on the college community was profound.

In a recent court appearance, where Beynon pled guilty to sending a threatening communication, details emerged about his struggles with dyslexia and autism. Spending much of his time engrossed in online content, his internet habits came under scrutiny. The court considered his young age and mental health challenges, resulting in a six-month suspended sentence and a ban from the college.
Sentenced to a mental health treatment and rehabilitation programme, Beynon is also prohibited from entering the college. His case underscores the urgent need for mental health awareness and support.
