Meet Alexe Cherrington from Carmarthenshire. At 23, she faced the unimaginable—a brain tumour diagnosis that left her with mere days to live without immediate surgery. The prognosis was harsh; survival came with little hope for fulfilling her dreams of becoming a mum. The journey began with grim predictions: a massive tumour, critical risks during surgery, potential disability, and the crushing news that starting a family was nearly impossible.
After a 16-hour turbulent operation, Alexe emerged, embarking on a long road to recovery, relearning to walk and talk. Her life transformed when an MRI in 2007 showed the tumour had returned—a dreadful blow. Alexe bravely tackled intensive radiotherapy yet was warned she’d likely never conceive.
But life had a different plan! 🌟 With her husband Dean, they embraced fostering, welcoming 29 children over the years and creating a loving home. In a twist of fate, Alexe underwent IVF and joyfully welcomed her daughter Amelia. Then, the unthinkable—in 2014, against all odds, Alexe discovered she was naturally pregnant, welcoming her second miracle, Georgia-Mae.
