Tragic News from North Wales: A 25-year-old soldier, Stephen Hughes from the Royal Welsh regiment, has been found dead in the Menai Strait just hours after being reported missing. Stephen vanished from the Bethel area around 8.30pm on August 12, with his body sadly recovered by 11.30pm the same night.

This shocking news swept through various online platforms, igniting a community rally for information in support of our veterans and service personnel. North Wales Police have confirmed the heartbreaking discovery, with Chief Inspector Jon Aspinall expressing his condolences to Stephen’s family, who are being supported through this unimaginable time. The coroner has been informed, and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Stephen was remembered fondly by a former colleague, who shared, “RIP Steve. You were one of the kindest, most genuine and caring blokes I’ve met. You will be sorely missed. Until the final RV brother.”
