🎉⚽ Big News for Scotland! ⚽🎉

The King has just declared a new bank holiday for Scotland on June 15th, marking the country’s exciting return to the football World Cup after 28 years! 🇸🇨⚽

Scotland’s last appearance in the World Cup was way back in 1998, and this special day off is to celebrate their debut game against Haiti on June 14th, kicking off at 2am UK time. 🏆 The announcement was made after First Minister John Swinney proposed the day after the match be recognised as a public holiday.
Buckingham Palace stated, “To celebrate Scotland’s participation in the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 28 years, it is fitting that Monday, the fifteenth of June 2026 should be a bank holiday in Scotland.”
John Swinney shared his excitement, tweeting, “It’s now official. Scotland will have an extra bank holiday on Monday 15 June to mark our return to the World Cup.” 🎉
So, Scottish friends, get ready to cheer for your team and enjoy an extra day off work! Let’s hope this tournament brings lots of excitement and maybe even some victories. 🥳🏴
