**Heartfelt Story: Joel’s Battle with Flu**
Meet Joel, a brave young boy from Torquay, Devon, who endured a harrowing experience after contracting the flu. At just five years old, Joel found himself battling for his life in intensive care for three long weeks. The flu, which might seem minor to some, had a drastic impact on Joel due to his low heart rate, ultimately requiring him to have a pacemaker fitted.

After being moved between hospitals, doctors discovered Joel had an infection, necessitating intense monitoring and care.
Fortunately, Joel has fully recovered, although he now depends on a pacemaker for a regular heartbeat. Brian reflects on their stressful experience and firmly believes timely vaccinations might have spared them from such a traumatic journey.
