A tragic accident has left the community in mourning as 16-year-old Alfie Moran lost his life after being hit by a car on Kingsway, Burnage. The young lad, fondly remembered as a boy “with the biggest heart,” was crossing the road when a Seat Ibiza struck him around 6.40 pm on Friday.

Alfie’s mum shared a touching tribute, calling him her “special boy” with a heart full of love. “Everyone who knew him always told me I had the best boy. He was the best friend to everyone, and losing him has left our family broken,” she expressed. “We had so much planned this year. He loved gaming and motorbikes, and he’d already begun saving for his first bike. I will forever be lost without him.”
The police have arrested an 18-year-old man, who has been released on bail as their investigations continue. Detective Constable Antrobus described the incident as tragic and confirmed that the family is supported by specialist officers.
