🚨 Heads up, folks! 🚨

Some drivers in Pwllheli, Gwynedd thought they could outsmart road closure signs and ended up calling for help when their vehicles got stuck in rising floodwaters. 🌧️ This happened after they reportedly removed barriers on a flooded stretch at Riverside Terrace and the A499 towards Abersoch, despite clear weather warnings from the Met Office.

Local residents are understandably frustrated. “We’ve got enough to deal with without these reckless drivers causing more trouble,” said one annoyed local. The flooding isn’t just a road issue—it’s affecting homes and gardens too. Yet, even with the barriers and visible floodwaters, some drivers chose to take the risk.
A delivery van driver needed rescuing by two fire brigade teams when their attempt to plough through the flooded road predictably hit a soaked and soggy halt. The police were alerted early in the morning to rescue the stranded driver and vehicle.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly, urging people to avoid flooded areas and not to drive through floodwaters. Their advice? “Don’t risk it!” It’s not just your car that can be damaged but also the safety of others can be compromised.
So let’s spread the word and remind each other: When you see floodwater, turn around—don’t drown! Stay safe, everyone! 💧🚗💨
