A dramatic mountain fire lit up the night sky on Anglesey as flames on Mynydd Bodafon in Llanerchymedd could be seen for miles! Over 70 concerned locals dialled 999, and more than 20 brave firefighters sprang into action to tackle the blaze. Crews from Amlwch, Benllech, Llangefni, and Menai Bridge, along with a specialist wildfire unit from Caernarfon, worked tirelessly to get things under control.

The fire service received their first alert at 8:39 pm on August 22nd, and the response was swift. The flat terrain of the island meant the fire was visible from afar, causing quite a stir among residents. As the inferno raged, folks were reminded to keep away from the area and avoid parking on roads nearby to allow fire crews clear access. Several roads were closed, and residents were urged to refrain from calling 999 again since the incident was already being managed.

Updates are expected to follow, keeping everyone informed about the situation. Let’s applaud the incredible effort of our local fire services and stay safe by steering clear of the affected areas. 🔥🚒 #StaySafe #FireAlert #AngleseyFire
