A major collision on Malpas Road near Newport had a fiery twist when one car caught fire, leading to a road closure that lasted around 12 hours. Happening late Tuesday night, the crash involved two cars and sent four people to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.
Gwent Police were quick to respond, arriving at about 11:30 pm, with the fire service also stepping in to tackle the vehicle blaze. A 17-year-old from Aberdare is now in custody, suspected of several driving offences, including causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving under the influence.
