Emma Raducanu is lighting up the US Open once again! After a confident 6-1, 6-2 win over Ena Shibahara, she’s on to the next round, and there’s a new face in her corner. Chiropractor Jerome Poupel, who’s been helping her since last year, was spotted in her box. With experience in F1 and as a functional neurologist for racehorses, he’s certainly a unique addition to her team!

Raducanu shared that she enjoys having Poupel around, saying he’s great at understanding her quirks, likening her character to that of a horse – stubborn but expressive. “He’s got so much diverse experience,” she mentioned, appreciating his calm yet eccentric nature. Thanks to him, her back problems are under control, allowing her to focus on her game.

As Raducanu gears up to face Indonesian qualifier Janice Tjen, she’s hoping the combined efforts of her new coach Francis Roig and Poupel will power her through the tournament. Her 2021 triumph at Flushing Meadows is still fresh, and with her talented team, she’s excited to make another strong showing this year. Keep an eye on this British star as she aims to go deep into the competition and hopefully avoid last year’s early exit! 🌟🎾
