🌊 Thousands of Starfish Found on UK Beach! 🌊

Kirkcaldy beach in Fife, Scotland witnessed a mesmerising yet puzzling spectacle when thousands of starfish were found washed ashore. Locals were in awe as they navigated through the sandy shores dotted with these fascinating sea creatures, capturing the surreal scene in photos and videos.

Helen Clark, who’s been living in Kirkcaldy for half a century, exclaimed, “I’ve never seen anything like it!” while her son Andrew found it incredibly unusual and suggested that experts should take a closer look. But fear not, this mass stranding is most likely the result of Mother Nature flexing her muscles.

Professor David Ferrier from the Scottish Oceans Institute explained that heavy seas and strong currents are likely to blame. If these turbulent conditions disturbed a seabed teeming with starfish, they would have been swept ashore in droves – an unfortunate, yet natural, phenomenon.
Did you know starfish can live out of water for just a few minutes? If you spot one that’s still alive, carefully returning it to the sea might just save its life! 🌊🐚
Dr Lyndsey Dodds of WWF Scotland pointed out that such incidents could become more frequent with climate change, as increasing storm activity affects marine life. Sadly, many of the starfish will have been exposed out of the water for too long, decreasing their chances of survival.
