Big news for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans! ITV is reportedly chatting about keeping the jungle antics going until at least 2030, with hopes to lock down the iconic Australian jungle backdrop for another five years. If they pull it off, we’ll be celebrating the big 30th series in no time!
This would be a longer commitment than ever before, as ITV has usually just signed on for three-year stints at a time. Negotiations are in full swing with Aussie authorities and the Tweed Shire Council for those all-important filming permits. A source spilled the beans, saying the production team is really planning ahead, but nothing’s set in stone yet. Fingers crossed, everyone!
The council confirmed that ITV will need to get fresh permissions, and things are looking promising. Hosted by our faves, Ant and Dec, I’m A Celebrity is ITV’s top-rated hit, with last year’s series drawing in a whopping 9.1 million viewers! Not to mention, it was 2024’s most-watched entertainment programme. Can you believe it all started in 2002, with DJ Tony Blackburn taking the crown in the very first series?
The show saw a temporary shift to Gwrych Castle in North Wales during the pandemic, but now it’s all about the Aussie outback once more. Last time around, it was McFly’s Danny Jones who came out on top, with Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney right behind him. The 25th series is gearing up to delight us yet again this autumn, though the celeb lineup remains hush-hush for now.
