New Poll Reveals Keir Starmer Facing Approval Challenges

When it comes to the Israel/Palestine situation, people’s stance in the UK is shifting. A significant portion of the population, 42%, now views Israel as a threat rather than an ally, while opinions regarding Palestine are similarly critical. Starmer is facing a surge in disapproval for his handling of the conflict. The call for the UK to recognise Palestine as an independent state is also gaining momentum, with 44% in favour.

On the flip side, the Online Safety Act is receiving a thumbs-up from the majority, with 54% supporting its goals, especially as social media use for under-13s comes under scrutiny. A whopping 83% feel that social media should be off-limits for the youngest users, while 70% believe phone usage should be restricted during school hours.

Education isn’t escaping the tech conversation either. Two-thirds of folks think schools should teach about new technologies like AI, even though most agree AI shouldn’t be used by students to do their homework.

As opinions on these issues evolve, Starmer will need to find his footing fast. Navigating international conflict while balancing new domestic policies is proving to be a tricky tightrope for him. What’s your take on these latest developments? Let us know in the comments!
