**‘Beer-Proof Parka’ Unveiled Ahead of Oasis Reunion Gigs to Shield Fans from Flying Pints**

As anticipation mounts for the highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour this summer, fans are being offered an innovative way to stay dry amid a British gig staple – celebratory pints launched skyward. In response to research that predicts millions of pints will be sacrificed to the atmosphere in moments of musical euphoria, a limited-edition ‘beer-proof parka’ has made its debut.
Estimates provided by analysts, who studied the behaviour of 2,000 UK adults, reveal that over 8.6 million pints of beer are likely to be purchased during the Oasis tour’s UK dates. Of that staggering number, approximately a quarter – some 2.2 million pints – will not be consumed but instead hurled jubilantly during the band’s most iconic moments. In practical terms, this translates to more than enough liquid to fill an Olympic swimming pool, and a collective financial loss of over £16.5 million in beer alone.

The custom parka, engineered specifically to protect revellers during the seasonal deluge of lager and ale, has been brought to market by Radio X. In a demonstration designed to allay any doubts about its practicality, Radio X presenter Johnny Vaughan rigorously tested the parka’s resistance to splashes outside a London pub – a location quintessentially associated with British music culture.
For many fans, these gigs represent far more than a night of entertainment; recent polling indicates that 77 percent see the reunion as a once-in-a-lifetime event. Astonishingly, over a third of ticket-holders compared the upcoming concert’s significance to their own wedding day or even deemed it more memorable. Such sentiments underline the enduring popularity of Oasis and the widespread national excitement about the band’s return to the stage.
According to the same survey, the album ‘Definitely Maybe’ claims the top spot as the public’s favourite, pulling in 41 percent of the vote. Though this tour focuses solely on their previous hits, nearly nine out of ten Oasis enthusiasts yearn for Liam and Noel Gallagher to reunite creatively for new material. However, the current nostalgia-driven setlist appears more than enough to guarantee full arenas.

Typical British weather, famous for its unpredictability, is unlikely to impact attendance or enthusiasm. Data reveals that the vast majority are undeterred by rain or harsh conditions. Fans are willing to endure an average of nine hours in the rain to experience the Gallaghers sharing a stage once again, highlighting the powerful emotional connection between the band and their supporters.
Radio X has seized the opportunity to offer fans a practical – and charitable – solution to their soggy woes. Their limited-edition, packable parka is not only designed to keep wearers dry, but also stylish, with only 250 coats available for sale at £28 each. All proceeds from the initiative will be donated to Global’s Make Some Noise, Radio X’s flagship charity supporting small, local causes across the UK.
Commenting on the initiative, Matt Deverson, Managing Editor of Radio X, remarked: “We’ve created limited edition Radio X packable parkas to keep you beer-proofed and looking good during this summer of live music – including the biggest reunion gig in history! Because when pints start flying, we want to make sure you’re not wearing them.”
For those unable to secure tickets to the sold-out tour, Radio X offers a touch of nostalgia via its 24/7 Oasis music stream, delivering classic hits through DAB digital radio, the Global Player app, and smart speakers nationwide.
As Oasis fans gear up for what promises to be a historic reunion, the threat of airborne pints need no longer be a dampener on anyone’s spirits – thanks to the humble but mighty ‘beer-proof parka’.
