🚴♂️ Hold onto your helmets, cycling fans! 🚁

British cycling icon Chris Froome has taken a tough tumble during training in the sunny south of France. The four-time Tour de France champ was airlifted to a Toulon hospital following the crash. Luckily, no other cyclists or vehicles were involved, but Chris has taken quite a few hits.

He’s in for surgery to patch up five broken ribs and a fractured lumbar vertebrae, among other injuries. But in true Froome fashion, he’s stable and even managed to stay alert and communicative after the incident. 🏥

This crash might mean an early end to his cycling season with his Israel-Premier Tech team, and possibly more twists and turns in his impressive career journey. Just this month, Chris finished 68th at the Tour de Pologne, and he’s been contemplating retirement by the end of 2025. But knowing Froome, anything’s possible! 🚴♂️
Renowned for his grit and determination, Chris has conquered the Tour de France four times and nabbed two Olympic bronze medals for Team GB. A legend on and off the bike, we’re all rooting for a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the saddle soon! 💪
