🚨 Rugby Drama Alert! 🚨

Ospreys’ CEO Lance Bradley has fired back at claims suggesting there’s “no viable future” for the Ospreys rugby club. After a high-stakes meeting with Swansea Council Leader Rob Stewart and WRU CEO Abi Tierney, tensions are running high!

Stewart recently shared that the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) wasn’t keen on investing in the Ospreys’ home ground, St Helen’s, casting doubt on the region’s future. This comes in light of the WRU’s aim to trim Wales’ professional teams from four to three, causing concern the Ospreys might face the axe. But Bradley isn’t having it—calling Stewart’s statements “categorically incorrect.”
In an internal email, Bradley expressed shock that details from what was supposed to be a confidential meeting were made public, also asserting that the reported outcomes were simply not true. He vowed to address the matter with Stewart directly, reassuring Ospreys staff that he would keep them informed.
Amidst a turbulent rugby scene, the WRU has entered a 60-day exclusivity window with Y11 Sports & Media for the sale of Cardiff Rugby. Pending a successful deal, Y11 will own both Cardiff and the Ospreys through 2026/27.
With so much uncertainty, Bradley’s adamant that the Ospreys will continue to have a place in Welsh rugby’s future, even if just for now, the precise shape of that future remains undetermined.
