A travel company boss has had enough and is cutting ties with the £45 Snowdon Mountain Railway after another frustrating trip! Andy Lamb of Wales Outdoors called out the railway for sudden cancellations and foggy windows, which left his customers less than impressed. Imagine this: you’re on a historic train, expecting breathtaking views, only to get stuck somewhere with windows so steamy you can’t even see out!

Mr Lamb’s latest grumble followed an outing where strong winds stopped the train from reaching the top of Snowdon, leaving his group disappointed. Despite being offered refunds, many argue this historic train’s charm isn’t about luxury—it’s the experience! But when the trip is hampered by leaky windows and chilly, damp seats, it’s no wonder tempers flare.
While some voiced support for Andy, others embraced the quirks that come with riding such a classic railway. “It’s part of the adventure,” commented one regular rider who has braved the elements with a smile. Blustering wind, rain, and yes, even fogged windows, are all part of the journey.

In response to the complaints, the railway has announced improvements in communication and passenger support during weather disruptions, plus a tech upgrade to enhance the booking and refunding system. Progress is underway with a modern overhaul to unify operations from ticketing to customer experience.
Still, Andy Lamb stands firm and declared his business is permanently severing ties with the railway. Safety first, says the railway, but for Mr Lamb, it’s about the principle. Should scenic train journeys come rain or shine simply be chalked up to experience, or do passengers deserve more?
