✈️ Heads up, travellers! Leeds Bradford Airport faced an unexpected overnight closure due to a runway issue. The airport, usually buzzing with around-the-clock activity since 1994, had to pause flights but promised a swift fix. 🌙

Thanks to the speedy work of repair teams, the runway was up and ready again by 6am Saturday morning. If you’ve got travel plans, don’t fret! Passengers have been advised to continue with their journeys as planned unless otherwise informed by their airline. 🛫

At around 10pm on Friday, the airport released a statement saying, “Due to an unforeseen issue with the runway, we’ve closed the airport until morning. Check with your airline for the latest flight updates. We’re focused on resolving this disruption to ensure passenger safety and comfort.” The team was also on hand overnight to answer any questions from concerned travellers.

Typically, from 11pm to 7am, only the quietest jets take to the skies from this airport—well, most nights anyway! So, if you’re flying soon, double-check with your airline and safe travels! 🚀 #LeedsBradfordAirport #TravelUpdate #RunwayRepair
