Imagine hearing a late-night knock and opening your door to what you think is your pizza delivery, only to find yourself in the middle of a terrifying burglary attempt! That’s exactly what happened to a mum in Hull when she was startled by a fake pizza man and two balaclava-wearing accomplices, one even wielding a firearm! 😱
The mum was home with her kids when she heard the knock. Thinking the pizza guy was in trouble, she pulled him inside to help, not realising he was part of the scheme. As she slammed the door, the men outside tried to break in, and she quickly called the police. The supposed delivery man even pleaded with her not to call, claiming he’d identify the others. Talk about nerve-wracking!
The police arrived swiftly, but not before leaving the family shaken. The incident has left the woman scared to even step outside her home. The whole ordeal was caught on CCTV, helping the investigation. 📹
Arrested was Mohammed Wahid, 20, who admitted to the burglary. Surprisingly, he claimed two men coerced him into playing the pizza man role for just £20. Aside from this incident, Wahid’s troubled past included drug dealings, which landed him a four-year sentence in a young offenders’ institution.
The court heard how this has deeply affected the woman and her kids, taking a toll on their peace of mind and personal security. The judge called it “an awful state of affairs.”
