Thankfully, fellow passengers sprang into action, preventing what could have been a catastrophic situation. They quickly alerted the cabin crew, who then informed the captain. The passenger was immediately moved from the seat next to the emergency exit and closely monitored until the aircraft safely returned to Manchester Airport.

Greater Manchester Police were waiting when the plane landed, escorting the individual off the aircraft. Engineers checked and repaired the door before the flight eventually resumed its journey.

The flight, initially smooth sailing after its 9:20am takeoff, was diverted back about an hour later. It took off again at 11:22am, with the situation under control and everyone safe onboard. 🛫
