🌧️🌊 Rain in Swansea means one thing – Cwmbwrla Roundabout turns into a mini lake! It was closed yet again this week due to flooding, and it’s become a constant headache for locals. Picture this: people swimming, fishing, and even paddle boarding on a roundabout! 🚗🚫

It’s been a watery saga since a culvert collapse near Cwmfelin Social Club last August sent everything downhill… quite literally! With part of the roundabout sinking, Welsh Water and Swansea Council have been scrambling to manage the mess. People have even had to abandon their cars as waters rose. 💧🚗

For those zipping through that part of Swansea, flooding means long detours and delayed journeys. 🌧️🛣️ While Welsh Water is on track to fix the damaged sewer by 2026, the culvert that’s causing all this chaos isn’t even theirs. 🤔
With Storm Bram recently battering South Wales, more heavy rain could see the roundabout going underwater again soon. In August, the aftermath even left an unsavoury trail with human faeces spotted around the area. 🚫💩
Swansea Council has said they’re powerless to fix the root cause but are keeping an eye on the area. Meanwhile, Welsh Water says they’re keen to get repairs going but emphasise that the culvert issue isn’t theirs to fix. 🛠️💧
Hopeful residents and frustrated drivers are holding out for a solution – fingers crossed the complex plans on the horizon finally give this spot some much-needed relief in the new year. 🤞🚧
