A major housing development in Rhondda Cynon Taf is moving forward with plans for nearly 550 new homes 🏠 as part of its latest phase! This is all part of the ongoing Llanilid project, originally approved in 2010, which aims to bring a total of 1,850 homes, along with a new primary school and a bustling town centre to the area.

The latest phases (5-8) will feature a variety of housing styles, from cosy one-bedroom flats to spacious five-bedroom family homes. Not to mention, 20% of these homes will be affordable — great news for those looking to settle in a community on the rise.

➡️ Phase 6: 150 homes ranging from one to four bedrooms. A balanced mix with 124 for sale and 26 at affordable rates.

➡️ Phase 7: 82 homes, offering two to four-bedroom choices. 63 will be available to buy, and 19 reserved as affordable.

➡️ Phase 8: 132 homes, including one to four-bedroom options. 108 will be open market, and 24 earmarked for affordability.

Access to the development will be from the north via the A473 and from the existing road network. Importantly, the developers are committed to keeping the site’s natural beauty intact with green spaces and enhanced treelines and hedgerows 🌲🌿.

Despite initial concerns about biodiversity, flood risk, and infrastructure, the latest plans have been adjusted to address these and have earned the green light from planning officers. They see this as a much-needed boost to the housing market in an area with high demand.
