What a nail-biter in Staffordshire! Cardiff City faced Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium and ended up sharing the spoils with a 2-2 draw. It all kicked off with Burton’s Jake Beesley netting an impressive scissor-kick in the first half, leaving Cardiff trailing.

But the Bluebirds were not done yet! Alex Robertson was the star man, smashing in two goals in the second half to put Cardiff in the lead. Just as it looked like three points were in the bag, Kyran Lofthouse scored a late equaliser for the home side, leaving Cardiff fans biting their nails.

Despite the stellar performance from Robertson and some impressive plays from Perry Ng and Calum Chambers, it wasn’t quite enough to maintain Cardiff’s lead at the top of League One. With wins from Lincoln, Bolton, Stockport, Bradford, and Huddersfield, it turned out to be a frustrating result for Brian Barry-Murphy’s squad.
Here’s a quick rundown of the player performances: Nathan Trott had a quiet afternoon but couldn’t do much about either goal and got a 4/10. Perry Ng’s vision and passing stood out, earning him a solid 7/10. Will Fish and Calum Chambers both put in strong defensive shifts but faced challenges throughout.
One to forget for Ronan Kpakio, who was subbed at half-time. Ryan Wintle marked his 150th appearance with a steady performance, while Omari Kellyman shone with his dynamic play. Ollie Tanner and Chris Willock showed glimpses of promise but couldn’t quite break down the Burton defence.
As for the subs, Joel Bagan and David Turnbull tried to make an impact but found it hard to change the game. Isaak Davies had a late chance but didn’t manage to convert.
In the end, it’s one point gained, but Cardiff will surely aim to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures and extend their lead at the top! Stay tuned for more Bluebirds action! #CardiffCity #Bluebirds
