A heartbreaking story has emerged from Staffordshire as a double murder investigation is now underway. On a quiet Sunday morning, police were called to a home on Corporation Street, where they discovered the unthinkable: two young children, Meraj Ul Zahra, just two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, aged three, were found unresponsive and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 43-year-old woman from the Stafford area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning. The authorities have stated there is no threat to the wider public, but the local community is understandably shaken by this tragedy.

Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield urges everyone to refrain from speculating about the incident, as it may cause distress to the families and potentially disrupt ongoing investigations. A police cordon remains at the scene, where officers are diligently working to understand the events leading to this heart-wrenching loss.
The police presence in the area continues, with roads around the scene closed as investigations proceed. The West Midlands Ambulance Service was first at the scene, but tragically, the paramedics were unable to save the children.
Our thoughts are with the grieving family, who are being supported by specially-trained officers. Let’s respect their privacy during this unimaginably difficult time. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward to help piece together this devastating puzzle. Stay safe, everyone.
