🚐 Heads Up, Caravan and Motorhome Enthusiasts! 🚐

Starting next month, new rules come into play for UK motorists with motorhomes and caravans planning trips to the EU. If you’re gearing up for an adventure across the Channel, it’s time to get familiar with these changes to avoid hefty fines!

From Sunday, October 12th, the new Entry/Exit System (EES) will be launched across various European countries. This means you’ll need to ensure all your documents are in order before hitting the road. The changes are part of a phased introduction set to run until April 2026, so it’s important to be prepared.
Mark Sheppard from Safeguard highlights that these changes affect those planning to stay in the EU for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. And there’s more – by the end of 2026, UK citizens will also need to have an ETIAS travel authorisation, so plan ahead!
The government assures that efforts are being made to keep any disruption minimal, but travellers should expect longer processing times as everyone adjusts.
These rules apply to trips through key locations like the Port of Dover, Eurotunnel at Folkestone, and Eurostar at St Pancras International. The EES will be rolled out in countries including France, Spain, Germany, and more, so make sure to check the specific requirements of your destination.
Planning a Euro trip with your mobile home? Now’s the time to stay informed and travel smart. Safe travels! 🌍✈️
