Yesterday, beachgoers in Amroth, Pembrokeshire were in for a surprise when they spotted a car getting swallowed by the sea! 🌊🚗 What started as a normal day took a turn when a vehicle somehow ended up stranded on the beach and was soon enveloped by the rising tide. Curious onlookers were left scratching their heads, trying to figure out just how it got there, with many continuing to enjoy their beach day activities like swimming and kayaking around the spectacle.
Reports came in just before 1.45pm, and HM Coastguard was alerted to the unusual sight. Lifeguards were on hand to assess the situation and confirmed that thankfully, there was no risk to anyone’s safety. One bystander noted, “People were watching, but most just went on with their day. When we came back for ice cream at 2:40pm, the car had completely disappeared under the water!”
As of now, plans are in place to recover the submerged vehicle, but it remains a mystery how it ended up there in the first place. If you missed out on the excitement, Amroth beach is known for its stunning half-mile stretch and the “huge expanse of sand at low tide,” so it might be worth a visit—with or without the added intrigue!
