Visiting Auschwitz for a day is an experience that goes beyond the horrors history embeds in our minds. As we drove through a town equipped with fast food chains, supermarkets, and dance studios, the realisation hit: Auschwitz isn’t isolated. It stands amidst everyday life, a striking contradiction.

Arriving early, we set off to Oswiecim, once home to a thriving Jewish community before the Nazi regime tore it apart.
