🚨 Royal Mail Slammed with £21 Million Fine! 🚨
Big news: Ofcom has hit Royal Mail with a massive £21 million fine for failing to deliver on their promises. Our beloved postal service has fallen short of its delivery targets for the 2024-25 financial year. First Class mail reached only 77% on time and Second Class wasn’t much better at 92.5%, missing the 93% and 98.5% targets respectively. 📬
This isn’t the first time Royal Mail is in hot water – they’ve been fined twice before: £5.6m in 2023 and £10.5m in 2024. Clearly, Ofcom isn’t taking excuses anymore. Ian Strawhorne from Ofcom emphasised the urgency for Royal Mail to step up and make real improvements. “People aren’t getting what they pay for,” Ian noted, urging Royal Mail to regain consumer confidence with genuine action, not just empty promises. 💌
