🎭 Exciting news for theatre lovers! Sir Kenneth Branagh is making a triumphant return to the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) after more than three decades away. The Oppenheimer star and celebrated Shakespearean actor will shine once again in the RSC’s spring 2026 season.

Branagh first dazzled audiences with the RSC when he played Henry V at just 23 years old. Now, he’s taking on the role of Prospero in Shakespeare’s The Tempest from May 13 to June 20 at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. But that’s not all! He’ll also tackle the character of Lopakhin in Laura Wade’s adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard at the Swan Theatre from July 10 to August 29. Joining him is the brilliant Helen Hunt, who makes her RSC debut as Madame Ranyevskaya.

There’s even more to get excited about as the RSC presents Bertolt Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, with the talented Mark Gatiss stepping into the shoes of gangster Arturo Ui. This striking satire examines the rise of fascism, and it’s a must-see from April 11 to May 30.
But wait, there’s more for your theatrical calendar! The RSC is also set to stage Driftwood by Martina Laird and co-produce A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Unicorn Theatre. It’s a season packed with thought-provoking performances that delve into themes of freedom, power, and community.
So, whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the world of Shakespeare, the 2026 RSC lineup is bursting with creativity and talent that you won’t want to miss. Grab your tickets and join in on this sensational theatrical journey! 🎟️✨
