Once an eyesore after a fire in 2017 and left to stand barren, the plot on Hunter Street is gearing up for a new lease of life. The council has given the green light to a new plan that significantly revamps the previous proposal for a 40-bedroom nursing home. Instead, expect a more intimate 24-bedroom care home, designed to flexibly serve its future residents. This update means the community can look forward to development starting sooner, as the timeline has been extended for another four years. Residents have been eager for progress and this scaled-down version looks set to revive the site, bringing much-needed care options to the heart of Briton Ferry.
