Exciting news for Bridgend! The first phase of a major project to rejuvenate the town centre has been unveiled. Local housing association Valleys to Coast (V2C) has submitted plans to revamp the iconic Wyndham House on Wyndham Street, aiming to transform it into their brand-new headquarters.

These plans involve a makeover for the existing upper floor offices, as well as stylish new aluminium windows, fresh cladding, and a splash of paint for the building’s exterior. The refurbishment promises to breathe new life into the area by shifting around 300 staff from their current location on Tremains Road to this bustling hub. Although the ground floor won’t see immediate changes, some tenants, like the local Post Office, will continue their operations.

While this application focuses on the office areas, there’s more in the pipeline! V2C has hinted at future development possibilities, including creating new apartments and commercial spaces. Community discussions are even hinting at the possibility of a public toilet facility being added to the plans.
Established in 2003, V2C already provides over 6,000 affordable homes in the region, and these latest steps could take Bridgend to new heights. The Bridgend County Borough Council will review the first phase of this exciting project in the coming months, so keep an eye out for updates. Let’s watch as this transformation unfolds!
