A camping trip in the beautiful Welsh countryside took a wild turn when Andrea Dickinson found her tent under siege—not by campers, but by badgers with a taste for bacon and Billy Bear ham! 🌌
Andrea, from Burnley, was enjoying the peacefulness of Shell Island in Gwynedd, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Perseid meteor shower. But instead of shooting stars, she was treated to an unexpected wildlife encounter. 🌟
Early in the wee hours, Andrea’s curiosity was piqued by strange rustling sounds from a neighbouring tent. What she discovered was both surprising and delightful—a trio of cheeky badgers making off with their midnight feast! 🦡
The sly critters first raided the neighbouring campers’ tent, where they managed to sneak inside the awning and snag some biscuits. But they weren’t quite finished. Next on their menu? Andrea’s own stash of bacon left outside her campervan. They also helped themselves to some of her son’s favourite Billy Bear ham.
“It was an astonishing sight,” Andrea shared enthusiastically. “Witnessing the badgers in action was more mesmerising than the meteor shower I initially came for!”
Not only was it an unforgettable experience for Andrea, but it also gave everyone on site an amusing story to tell. The campers joked that the badgers were able to outsmart them, despite their dog’s apparent disinterest in alerting them to the commotion!
