Here’s the sticky bit: The Ospreys and Scarlets are worried that Cardiff might get special treatment now that they’re under WRU’s wing. In protest, they’ve refused to sign the new Professional Rugby Agreement (PRA). The response? The WRU’s called in a two-year notice period on the old PRA, potentially cutting down Wales’ professional rugby clubs from four to just two! 😲

Now, WRU Chair Richard Collier-Keywood insists the union’s got the legal ground to defend this. He’d prefer arbitration to wait until after a six-week consultation on reducing pro teams. But, the west Wales clubs aren’t backing down, accusing the WRU of breaching UK and EU competition law.

The WRU wants to hear from fans and the rugby community, aiming to make a move that’s best for Welsh rugby’s future. Collier-Keywood remains hopeful, emphasising that the decision to step in and ‘rescue’ Cardiff was for the good of the sport.

📢 What do YOU think? Is this move saving Cardiff or could it spell trouble for Welsh rugby? Let us know in the comments!
